Summer Day Camps

at Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site

This is an outdoor day camp which celebrates our Western Canadian History, Heritage and Culture. Activities include such things as fur trade exploration, archaeology, metis culture, games, crafts and much more. Camps run from Tuesdays to Fridays during July and August. The schedule and costs for 2018 are as follows:

  • Junior Explorers: Ages 4-6. A half day of camp from either 9 am to 12 noon or 1 pm to 4 pm. Runs from July 17th to 20th. Cost $50.00 per session.
  • Explorers in English: Ages 7-11. A full day of camp from 10 am to 4 pm. Runs from July 3rd to 6th, or July 24th to 27th, or July 31st to August 3rd. Cost $100 per session.
  • Explorers en Francais: Ages 7-11. A full day of camp from 10 am to 4 pm. A summer opportunity for students to brush up their French language skills. Runs from July 10th to 13th, or August 14th to 17th. Cost $100 per session.
  • Coureurs des Bois: Ages 11-14. A full day of adventure from 10 am to 4 pm. Runs from August 7th to 10th. Cost $110 per session.

Financial Assistance

We offer financial assistance to families whose children would not otherwise have the chance to attend summer camp. This opportunity is available to residents of the Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County area.

To apply for financial assistance, please fill out the Financial Assistance Form (PDF). We ensure that there is confidentiality of information at all times.
